Sport Safeguarding Limited (SSL) is owned and managed by Ieuan Watkins, a vastly experienced investigator, trainer and sport safeguarding specialist.  

31 years of policing experience, focussing predominantly within the Public Protection arena, including management of child, adult and domestic abuse teams, alongside responsibility for managing high risk sexual and violent offenders (MAPPA).  Experience led to Ieuan representing all four Welsh Police Force areas on National Working Groups, leading to secondment to the National Crime Agency where he was deployed internationally implementing strategic safeguarding within a British Overseas Territory.

Statutory Services overlapped the sporting world when Ieuan became operational and strategic lead for safeguarding in Welsh Cricket, initially in the recreational game (Cricket Wales), and then later leading safeguarding for Glamorgan County Cricket Club, the professional game in Wales.

He was later interim Safeguarding Manager (pro-active) for the England and Wales Cricket Board, designing and implementing the Safeguarding Function for the ECB Hundred Competition - including the recruitment, deployment and training of crickets first 'Event Safeguarding Officers' - a provision now commonplace at major cricketing events.

Previously the Ann Craft Trust Lead for Wales for Adults in Sport and Physical Activity, and has assisted numerous sport safeguarding bodies across the UK in a variety of roles.  He now supports the UK Sports Institute in the Olympic and Paralympic arena.
